THE ARTISAN'S NEST COLLECTIVE
Twenty Station Street
Contact person is MyraJean Marshall
Recently moved from Whippletree Junction Myra's new craft store looks great. Local crafts are featured. Space is rented to crafters at a nominal fee and each craft person looks after the area they rent by keeping their shelves stocked and tidy. Myrajean offers a wide selection of local crafts, most of them one of a kind and the prices are fair.
Hours are ten to five every day, with shorter hours on Sunday. Make sure you visit, soon.
Eliza Hemingway most often produces larger wall pieces of fibre art, for which she has won several awards. Shoppers and visitors to the Cowichan Valley can now buy smaller pieces of Eliza's Crafts at the Nest Collective. A speciality is her therapeutic computer balls. These take a while to produce and they sell fast so ask at the Nest Collective to see them. One of these balls would make an interesting present for the man who already has everything. If you are traveling they pack inside a travel bag with ease.

CHEMAINUS LITERARY FESTIVAL
Culture Days Canada, September 28th, 29th, and 30th.
Starting February, 3rd, 2018 we meet every Saturday morning, from 10 until noon.
Come join us. We specialize in literary fiction. We want exciting, contemporary Canadian stories. (Please: no biographical-therapeutic memoirs)
Learn how to write short stories and novels; learn how to produce a book; learn about publishers and how to edit a book. Learn how to market. Learn about book lay-out. learn how to write good punctuation and grammar. You will have the support of other writers.
Become part of a published book of short stories for the Second Chemainus Literary Festival in time for Culture Days, Canada.
All that is needed is a notebook, pen, your imagination and the desire and dedication to write.
We also need techies who don't want to write but can use a computer and would be interested in how books are put together and marketed. Also, if writing is not your thing but you would like to put forward your opinions, and help with marketing and sales you are also welcome.
The group is open and there are no membership fees or other costs. Any royalties from book sales will be paid to the included writers.
We meet at the Willow Café,
9749 Willow Street

Use this site for a phone number lookup. Several scammers have telephone robots roving sites on a twenty-four hour schedule. You can submit a report of phone calls you receive to whitepages.ca. Do this because it helps the trackers keep up with the scammers and track them down.
If your phone rings and you do not recognize the caller's number on the phone screen you should let it ring. If you pick up the phone, listen for a voice. DO NOT SPEAK OR MAKE A SOUND. If you hear silence you know the caller is a spammer. If the system on the other end of the phone hears your voice or even a TV in the background the scanner knows they have a human on the other end and not another robot system. With the slightest sound, even a click they can then steal ALL your personal information and use it to steal your identity and your money. Look up their number on whtepages.ca and submit the number.
Remember: SILENCE AT ALL TIMES. Give your friends a call signal to use and let them know you will call them back. The thing is to never answer the phone unless you recognize the number.
At this moment #503-715-3705 is one of the nuisance numbers roving to scam and cheat you. This number is located in Portland, Oregon but the scammers change the number on a daily basis. They change the area code and the prefix to keep ahead of the fraud squad. Another area code and prefix is 503-774 etc. Another area code is 916. Make a list of the different numbers and watch how the numbers change as these scammers are tracked down. For a while the calls were originating in Los Angeles.
Do not talk to strangers on your phone. They are out to rob you of everything you own.
